ICPC is known as the Olympics of Programming Contests. The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the premiere global programming competition conducted by and for the world’s universities. The competition operates under the auspices of ACM, is sponsored by IBM, and is headquartered at Baylor University. For nearly four decades, the ICPC has grown to be a gamechanging global competitive educational program that has raised aspirations and performance of generations of the world’s problem solvers in the computing sciences and engineering. Teams of three students represent their universities in multiple levels of regional competition. Volunteer coaches prepare their teams with intense training and instruction in algorithms, programming, and teamwork strategy. Top teams from regional competition advance to the final round.

Amrita & ICPC

Amrita started hosting the ACM ICPC Regional in 2005. The number of participating teams have shoot up from 65 to 1800 in the past 7 years. The quality problem sets, the hospitality provided by the Amrita volunteers and the amibence of the campus have created interest among the potential teams to participate in the Regionals at Amrita. Last year, Amrita hosted the onsite contest at three of its campuses - Amritapuri in Kerala, Bengaluru in Karnataka & Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. This year's Online Contest is scheduled

Foreign teams

Foreign teams are exempted from Online Contest and can directly register for the Onsite Contest under Asia Amritapuri Foreign teams, in Baylor Website after October 25. Registration fee shall be send to the address given in this site.

Step - 1 Registration in Baylor Site

Team member shall go through the eligibility (click here) before proceeding with the registration
1. Coach registers in the Baylor Site (click here). Coach shall be the faculty member from the institution where the team members study. Coaches shall compulsorily register using the official email id. If there is no official email id, head of the department shall send the link of the institutional / department webpage where the name of the coach is published, to icpc[at]am.amrita.edu.
2. Team members receive the email to complete the registration by filling the team member information.
3. Registration fee is Rs. 500/- per team to participate in the Asia Amritapuri Preliminary Contest. Note that this is only for the Online Contest. Onsite Contest fee is announced later and need to be paid only after the announcement of selection. Demand draft shall be taken in the name of "Amrita Technologies" payable at "Kollam". Write your team name and institution name on the reverse side the demand draft and send it to "Anand Shenoi, Regional Contest Director, Amrita University, Clappana P.O., Kollam - 690 525, KERALA" so as to reach on or before October 5. Click here to enter the demand draft details. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO TEAM WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT SATISFYING THE ABOVE CONDITIONS.

Step 2 - Online Contest

The contest is scheduled for 3 hours. After receiving the demand draft from the teams, the status is updated as "ACCEPTED" in the Baylor Site. THERE WON'T BE ANY NOTIFICATION TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION. It is the resposibility of the contestants to complete the registration on time.
After the last date of accepting the Registration at Baylor Site, teams will receive the user credentials by email. The same can be accessed through a URL, that will be published after the last date of registration. Only those teams whose are "ACCEPTED" in Baylor Site will receive the login credentials. Please go through the Registration steps given above.

Step 3 - Onsite Contest

Teams selected for the Onsite Contest are promoted to Onsite Round in the Baylor Site after the receipt of the registration fees. Registration fee for Onsite Contest is INR 2500 for Domestic teams and USD 100 for Foreign teams.
