ICPC is known as the Olympics of Programming Contests. The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the premiere global programming competition conducted by and for the world’s universities. The competition operates under the auspices of ACM, is sponsored by IBM, and is headquartered at Baylor University. For nearly four decades, the ICPC has grown to be a gamechanging global competitive educational program that has raised aspirations and performance of generations of the world’s problem solvers in the computing sciences and engineering. Teams of three students represent their universities in multiple levels of regional competition. Volunteer coaches prepare their teams with intense training and instruction in algorithms, programming, and teamwork strategy. Top teams from regional competition advance to the final round.

Amrita started hosting the ACM ICPC Regional in 2005. The number of participating teams have shoot up from 65 to 1800 in the past 7 years. The quality problem sets, the hospitality provided by the Amrita volunteers and the amibence of the campus have created interest among the potential teams to participate in the Regionals at Amrita. Last year, Amrita hosted the onsite contest at three of its campuses - Amritapuri in Kerala, Bengaluru in Karnataka & Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. This year's Online Contest is scheduled
Teams selected for the Onsite Contest are promoted to Onsite Round in the Baylor Site after the receipt of the registration fees. Registration fee for Onsite Contest is INR 2500 for Domestic teams and USD 100 for Foreign teams.
